FIGHTER/MAGE COMBO (final revision):
NOTE: The following character build was inspired by Forced Evolution’s epic spellsword & half vampire fighter. Thanks, you taught me well (I think?). Also, since you don't find Wraithstrike to be overpowered, it would be a lethal spell for this character, in addition to sadism, & a bunch of 2nd level pearls of power.
Class feature & feat references: PHB 3.5, DMG 3.5, Complete Arcane, Complete Warrior, Libris Mortis.
Race: Human (for the sake of simplicity & versatility)
Alignment: Lawful neutral or neutral evil >;-]

Ability score priorities: INT, STR, DEX, CON, WIS, CHA.

At 15th level I'd lose Arcane Strike and pick up Monkey grip. If using wraith strike you'd not suffer much from the -2 to attack, and if combined with enlarge, wraith strike, and sadism, you'd deal a lot of damage on a charge... also Iron Body (8th level spell), for pure melee when spells run low... swinging a Huge Greatsword 4d6 damage... Just a suggestion if you are having 2nd thoughts
Monkey Grip is in the complete warrior.
I was thinking about Wraith Strike, and if you think it was too powerful, instead of increasing the level, why not add an expensive material component, maybe around 20gp to 50gp
You know I was thinking also of what magical items, and at higher levels, if you got you hands on a ring of wizardry II, that you'd give you double 2nd level spells...
