Life in 2150 is one of secrecy, conflict and political strife. Human expansion into space was met with overwhelming success. When the first corpoations began colonization of the moon nobody thought that mars would soon follow. A short time later, Venus and a few moons of Jupiter were inhabited. All this was made possible by two major technological breakthroughs. First was the Jump Gates, able to pin-point certain paths in space Humanity was able to expand colonies to Venus and Jupiter. Second was the Eco-Generator, which allowed terraforming of planets. The Eco-G revolutionized colonization by allowing Mars, and Europa moon of Jupiter to actually have an atmosphere. To assist the fledgeling colonies and Ecosystems the Earth Alliance Teaty was signed by all four planets.

However the pack dissolved quickly as the Stellar Corporations pressured the colonies to lift trade restrictions. Conflict errupted between the private corporate forces and the Earth Alliance Military, fighting has died down to small skirmishes but now All four planets are independant governments with stability held by a fragile peace agreement. Terraforming has taken root on several large asteroids within the main asteroid belt forming an odd form of space feudalism and is a hot spot for space piracy.

--- The Mission Briefing ---
You all are sitting in a large conference room with several people. Some belong to the Earth Alliance Military, some are civilians, and not all are human.

The room has sound absorbing interior, and a large stage with a podium to the left. You notice Sky Marshal Rhames step onto the stage his chest shining with countless medals and ribons. He is a gruff man that seems to remind you of a bulldog.

Good Morning, he says. I assume that since you have volunteered to completed the necessary training and are sitting in this room of your own accord that you want to be here. This information is classified Top Secret and of the most Sensitive Nature. By witnessing this briefing you are 100% committed and will not be allowed to back out. Those of you who wish to not make this commitment may exit now. He waits quietly for several minutes as a few people get up and promptly exit.

In 2135 the Omni Coporation made its first jump to Saturn, as he speaks an image of Saturn appears in the holographic viewer and zooms into a single large moon. They landed on the moon called Rhea which was deemed best for terraforming because it orbits Saturn below her rings, it is less subject to debris strikes and already contains oxygen in the atmosphere. Needless to say Omni moved quickly to setup a colony on the surface.

It was during the colonization and exploration of Rhea that Omni discovered an artificial structure not of human design. He looks at the crowd in all seriousness and pauses to let the information slowly sink in. Yes ladies and gentalmen real evidence of Extra-Terrestrial life. The map zooms into an arieal view of several odd structures built into and on top of a plateau, surrounding is a large enclosed city used by the colonists before Rhea was able to sustain life.

Omni has sent countless scientists to the moon base for research, and have been extremely successful in not leaking any information about what is exactly inside. But what we do know is that no humans have ever reached saturn until Omni made that jump.

Two weeks ago we intercepted a distress signal from the moonbase. They knew we were listening and directed the message to the EAF. Most of the message was distorted and we couldn't recieve everything but here is what we were able to confirm from the message based on our collection and analysis.

- There has been no communication with the moon base since the signal. This leads us to believe that all long range coms are down, we have no further information (NFI) about the short range coms.
- The Eco-Generators are more than likely in-operable, leading to mass casualties all over the surface. However energy level reception tells us that enclosed enviromental domes are still operating.
- We know that the automated security system has gone haywire. The security drone's target filtering programs were scrambled and they began destroying anything that wasn't registered as part of the facility furniture...NFI
- To make matters worse, the Orbital Defense Platforms around the moon have also been disrupted. They incidently fired upon each other destroying 3 of the 4. The 4th is still operational and has destroyed all of our probes sent to the moon.
- Finally the Saturn Jump Gate have been destroyed, we assume from one of the defense platforms, meaning until it is fixed there will be no returning to Earth.

From here on those of you who are to be sent to saturn will recieve the mission planning briefing aboard the ship. Questions will be answered by your commanding officer and your equipment will also be issued then. Good Luck and God Speed.
