BEWARE THE SNAIL

In my last game on OpenRPG a player of mine IanOB, told me how a snail attacked his character sheet. I shit you not BEWARE OF THE SNAIL.

I guess he was coming home one night from where ever and was looking for his character to review it like any true RPG addict would. Well he found his sheet on the floor 4 pages I think. Anyway, he found a snail sitting on it and it had eaten two holes through the pages.

This attack on character sheets cannot go unchecked. If you find your character sheet threatened by a these house-toting slugs then take action... capture it in a jar and sell him as escargot, only drastic measures of this sort will ensure your character sheet remains safe.

ARCANE TRICKSTER/DAGGERSPELL MAGE: & now the smart way to make this character:

This is something I came up with on the fly at the request of FE. I still made it a close range support specialist, just like the arcane trickster. It has much better hit points, but I would go into melee WITH CAUTION. If you want to go into melee, a maxed out escape artist skill is a must, or a ring of freedom of movement, since a successful grapple against this character will take him down very quickly. Returning daggers are a must for this character to exploit its full effectiveness. IF conditions are right, by the end of this character build, one should be able to do somewhere between 18-24d6 sneak attack with a full ranged attack of thrown daggers (& 2 weapon fighting) after wraithstrike is cast, not to mention also the spells being channeled through the daggers. Other advantages include two outstanding saving throws, lots of skill points, versatility of being a wizard, etc. Anyway, here's the character build:

FIGHTER/MAGE COMBO (final revision):

NOTE: The following character build was inspired by Forced Evolution’s epic spellsword & half vampire fighter. Thanks, you taught me well (I think?). Also, since you don't find Wraithstrike to be overpowered, it would be a lethal spell for this character, in addition to sadism, & a bunch of 2nd level pearls of power.

Is WRAITHSTRIKE overpowered?

This is another topic that has popped up in the D&D boards. Some people say the second level spell "Wraithstrike" (Complete Adventurer page 158) is overpowered. I was initially skeptical, but after reading the spell, I kind of agree.

This second level spell is a swift action personal spell that allows melee attacks to be resolved as touch attacks for 1 round. Thus it ignores any armor, shield, & natural armor bonuses.

The spell has an affect very similar to the "brilliant energy" weapon enhancement (Dungeon Master's Guide 3.5, page 244), except it affects undead & it ignores natural armor.

I think this spell is overpowered mainly because it allows a character to replicate an effect close to (if not BETTER THAN) that of a +5 equivalent weapon AS EARLY AS 3RD CHARACTER LEVEL. If its not banned outright in a D&D campaign, the spell level of Wraithstrike should at least be increased to 4th or 5th, IMHO.
